7 things you should do from 35

Writer's picture: Yazo GutierrezYazo Gutierrez

At this age we already know that there is no Prince Charming, that sleepless nights pass a bill and that lines of expression are not a matter of old. Time doesn't forgive anyone, so it's best not to leave things for tomorrow and go out into the world today.

If you think adolescence is a complicated stage, in every level and sense, watch out for the revelry that awaits you in your thirties.

- Fat levels start to increase, even if you eat the same thing.

- Increases sagging in arms and legs.

- Metabolism drops, so you burn fewer calories per minute.

- Bone problems begin if you don't take care of them.

- Lower melatonin levels which means sleeping worse, among other things.

- The brain ages, i.e. neurons gradually decrease.

- The quality and quantity of your eggs will be lower.

We could go on, but it would be pretty depressing. That's aging, so do something to improve your life as your cells become more adult.

Here is few of my tips to do from 35 to look and feel better:

1. Start taking Collagen

At 35 it is a good age to start consuming more collagen, as collagen and elastin production begins to decline.

The most recommended at this stage is to take daily supplements that contain collagen to help your body.

My favourite product right now is Monat's "Collagen Key". This product helps your skin, hair and to have a healthier appearance. In addition to its powerful antioxidants, including vitamin C, vegan amino acids, help your skin have more hydration, elasticity and softness.

2. Melatonin chute

It is from this age that experts recommend starting to take supplements, but not without a prescription, but at large doses and under medical control.

Remember that melatonin helps protect your heart, helps against diabetes.

In addition, it has antioxidant effect. It can help stop obesity. It is excellent for migraine states and the best thing is that it helps to improve our sleep state.

Melatonin also works as an antidepressant, stimulates sexuality, gives us more energy, stimulates our immune system and therefore protects it from various diseases such as flu, while also reducing stress and anxiety, controlling cortisol levels, combating insomnia, allowing us to study much better, regulates sleep hours...

It has some contraindications, so it is advisable to ask the doctor about this hormone.

3. Move your ass

Since the law of gravity makes no exceptions and treats all butts equally, it is your responsibility to try to keep it in place for as long as possible.

One suggestion is to practice 'Booty Shape Movement'. It is a very complete discipline – since the exercises are integrated into a choreography – with which they work mainly the buttock.

Another option for me will be dance it out. Find the music of your choice and enjoy at least for 45 min or 1 hour dancing. This practice will help your mood and your body all at once. Try the new TikTok or reel dances and shake shake!

4. Read a lot

Mark the goal of one book a month and carry it out.

The theme is what you put and this habit will help you keep your brain in shape and improve memory.

I will be sharing my favourite books in my next post but for now I can tell you I loved "Love Life Again: Finding Joy When Life Is Hard by Tracie Miles"; 50 Ways to Yay!: Transformative Tools for Less Stress, More Presence, and a Whole Lot of Happy by Alexis Pano; Love Louder: 33 Ways to Spark Inspiration and Amplify Your Life by Preston Smiles. Those re to name few books that I found to be great to go books to make a happier life and time of chaos.

5. More superfoods

It's time to put the processed and added sugar behind and move to the dishes with ingredients loaded with nutrients. That is, less industrial pastries and bag snacks and more pure cocoa, seeds and nuts.

"Legumes, almonds, avocado and olives are essential within a healthy diet. Legumes provide you with healthy proteins, fiber and minerals while fats will make you feel satisfied, shape your brain and your cells," warns holistic coach Beatriz Larrea.

In this respect, every day I try to take my "Total Greens" from Monat, because it has helped me improve my energy and have a better mood. It's helped my immune system and hydration of my body. I totally recommend it. Total greens has a blackberry flavour, or raspberry and best of all it is that it is vegan and contains no sugar.

6. Meditate

Meditation proposes s stop and accept every situation as it is. This makes it easier to be and be happy.

One of my me times is practicing as much I can meditation. It relax my mind, my body and gives me a boost of energy and a touch of happiness.

My to go apps to meditate are Muse (of course with my Muse band), The Genius Community from Jay Shetty and the Oprah & Deepak Chopra app. Honestly the are worth every penny. Try it out!

7. Time for you

If you're okay, you'll reflect it around you and that includes the people around you. Occasionally, a solitude escape will do you a lot of good because you connect with yourself, disconnect from the rest and recharge the batteries to the full.

Tip: Visit a spa and treat yourself to some detox treatment that leaves you as new.
