1. The insatiable hunger of Labradors
If you have a Labrador, you sure know what we're talking about, and it just seems like their hunger doesn't end! Well, research conducted by the University of Cambridge (England) and published in the journal Cell Metabolism revealed that his obsession with food is due to a mutation in the POMPC gene. This mutation makes it difficult to produce the chemical that, from the brain, warns that you are no longer hungry after a meal. The mutation occurs in approximately 23% of the Labradors.
2. Who were the first guide dogs?
The first dogs that served as a lazarillo were trained by the Germans at the end of World War I to help soldiers who had gone blind in the contest.

3. Bluey, the longest-running dog
Bluey was an Australian shepherd who lived the cold 29 years and 5 months! In human age it would be about 160 years.
4. The origin of the Doberman
German tax collector Louis Dobermann wanted to create a breed of dogs that combined strength, loyalty and intelligence to protect him. He got it, and so came the Doberman from whom he takes the name.
5. The origin of the "care for the dog" sign
These posters were invented by the citizens of ancient Rome to alert those passing by their home. They used to be mosaics!
