Throughout our beloved and mistreated Venezuela the custom or tradition of commemorating the Three Kings Day, a festival that transcends from generation to generation, has not been maintained. The custom has been dying out for more than half a century. But it is still a very special day for all the children who eagerly await the arrival of these three characters to receive their presents. The festival that symbolizes the arrival of the Magi is the name by which tradition names visitors who, after the birth of the Child God, came from foreign countries to give him gifts and is celebrated on January 6 in Venezuela and other countries.

It is a custom that on the night of January 5, children place their shoes on the doors of their rooms so that the Kings leave their presents there. Thus, when one of us lost a milk tooth, in the morning, he would find a little snack in his shoe. Legend has it that those who do not behave well do not deserve the gift. Many celebrate this day in their homes by inviting family and friends. It is Venezuelan custom and tradition that in the Christmas nativity scene, as part of the Catholic religion and traditional customs, three Wise Men are placed who accompany the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph and the Child Jesus while they deliver their offerings of great symbolic wealth: gold , frankincense and myrrh.

It is not necessary to be a Catholic, or a believer, I believe, for joy to bathe the children of Venezuela and the world on Three Kings Day. Herod is not dead.
